Missions in England

While we have taken many teams on mission trips this was the first year that we hosted one in the UK and in a small house!

A team of 20 came from New Hope Christian Church in Memphis, TN. Our aim was to give insight into England as a nation and as a people. Training was given in many areas, including relational and confrontational evangelism while looking at the strengths and weaknesses of both, reaching the homeless, the rise of persecution and Islam, supporting local believers, street surveys and much more. Our heart has always been not just to do missions but to intentionally train and equip. To do this we looked at the history and traditions of the nation visiting London, Ely and Cambridge as well as going to Cathedrals that were over 1,000 years old to stand on the heritage of generations past. They also visited more modern expressions of church and working with a church plant to experience what Jesus is doing in the UK at this time

England is fast becoming an "anti-Christian" nation. The team experienced this personally as they talked with people on the streets giving an eye opener to those who have always thought of England as a "Christian nation". It is a wake up call for the western church. This was a time to let the young people know that the times are changing and that this is their moment to stand up and be counted.
